Fizzez to the Fryzzzzez

Let's just put it this way.
You like drinks.
I like drinks.
You like fries.
I like fries.
Where else would you go other than....
111 E 1600 N, North Logan, Utah
I'm so excited to tell you all about this amazing place. As college students, sometimes dates can get expensive, but they don't have to be! And NOT only when it comes to dates, sometimes you just want a really good drink, delectable, fries and sometimes well, fast food just doesn't cut it.

Fizz N Fryz is a new business that two of my very good friends, Dalin and Megan Crosland actually own and run. This is such an amazing story that shows how if you really put your mind to something, you can do anything you want! They worked so hard to get this up and going and the entire place is just spectacular! The environment is very family friendly and you can see the workers making your food so you actually know what is going on. Everything is up to date with the latest hits playing above your head. And just look at this menu-SO MANY CHOICES!

They have tons of different choices for drinks. There are 20 different specialty drinks that are already pre-concocted or you can create your own. You can choose your size, what kind of drink, and whatever you would like mixed in.
Fries, yes? They have three different sizes and then you choose your sauce. Like fry sauce? Well, they have it! But if you want to try something else I highly recommend the mango sauce. Bomb.
There are also other kinds of hot beverages, you can get waffles, cookies, and brownies. There are just so many great choices.
HEAVEN.
The drinks here are incredible.
Pink Mink was my choice: Sprite, Strawberry, & Limes included.

Megan and I had a great time and definitely enjoyed every last bite (and Sip).

Fizz. Fryz. Fabulous. Period.

This is one of the best things about Logan, there are always so many great new places to go try out!

Check out this awesome place and if I make any great recommendations, the Woot Woot is definitely a must try. (Dr. Pepper, Raspberry, Vanilla Creamer, and Lime perfection).

Aggie White and the Seven Touchdowns

Alright, we didn't make 7 touchdowns BUT we did have an amazing game against Wake Forest last Saturday and to make it even more awesome was that it was the USU White Out game! Lucky for me, I was able to get an all access field pass (Cool right?!) to the game so I took my GoPro and my camera and captured as much as I could while I was down there!

Right when I walked in, I noticed that many of the front row jo's were holding some very questionable powder in their hands.

"It's cornstarch!" said a girl in the front row.

During the "I Believe We Will Win" chant, right at the climax of the chant, the entire front row threw the cornstarch into the air and everyone who wasn't wearing white to the game (which was basically no one) was covered in it!

Side-note- there should be a video somewhere of it but I don't have it but when I do, I will post it!

Anyways! Let's talk about what exactly a USU football game is all about.

USU football is a very big reason why fall semester is so awesome. You really can't beat the feeling and excitement get when you are there with the rest of the student body and you are all glued onto the game because it's almost like you are playing with the football team.

We take our white-out games seriously,
You can't tell but many of the people in the photo above are wearing the exact same shirt. A few days before the white-out game, the USU Campus Store sells the white game day shirts for students, family, Aggie supporters, kids, for a five bucks! It's nice to grab one when you first come up here because you know that you are going to be wearing that white shirt at least once every year!

The shirts are only one of the many reasons why the Aggies are the best at sporting events.

The students are also a big part of it as well!

The HURD is a club on campus that essentially leads the student body in the chanting and cheering in many of the sporting events. Usually in the front lines of the charge against the opposing team, the HURD are a big part of the student body system and they are always looking for energtic Aggies who have a passion for winning and sports to join them! (I also heard that they give you a shirt when you join as well!)

Of course, you don't have to be a member of the HURD to be a leader within the crowd! Just being there, cheering on the football team and letting them know that you are there and with them with every touchdown or fumble is enough.

Being on the field next to those players, I have realized how much they rely on the crowd for support and to keep them pumped during the game so if you are going to be going to an Aggie football, basketball, racquetball, soccer, even an intramural flag football game, go with a lot of energy and cheer your fellow Aggies on! It really does help!

I feel like Big Blue is saying, "YOU WANNA PIECE OF US?" but I mean that's just me.

Ally Bronte and Ailed Miller stoked to be at the game! (Look at the picture, that cornstarch I talked about it everywhere!)

When the Aggies make a touchdown, these guys pull a big rope on the machine behind them and a loud boom goes off. It is awesome. I wonder if they are deaf?

Patrick Sutton and Matt Moon showing a lot more than just their pride for USU.
Totally fine though, I mean, technically, they are wearing white.

Special Shout-out

Alright, I have to talk about the USU cheerleaders for a second here.

Blake Nielson, a male cheerleader. (hey, we have those too here at USU)

They are seriously a true form of leadership on this campus. Not only do they have to smile almost the entire time but they have to be ready to cheer or lead the entire stadium in a chant to pump up the team! There are coolers everywhere on the field and it is rare to see a cheerleader putting the pom-pom's down and taking a ten while the game is going. Cheerleaders may seem silly from the view of a spectator but if you really think about it, there is so much hardwork that is put into memorizing and keeping that energy throughout the entire game! It really is just amazing.

They did this the last part of the game and the photographer next to me said, " How do they do that?? I mean, that guy looks pretty big!". I just couldn't stop laughing.

You all know who this guy is so I won't go into crazy detail but I'm glad I got this picture cause it's a good representation of the students that are apart of USU Athletics, they are students who are proud of their accomplishments like the rest of us.

Alright, I will let y'all go! Hopefully I will have some footage to show of my experience on the field (because it was sooooooo very awesome) but I hope you will get yourself into an Aggie sporting event soon because there are not enough blog posts that can describe how amazing it really is. Win or lose, USU is THE best school when it comes to sports. You just have to come up and check it out yourself.

Make good choices!

No Aurora, But StIll A Great Show!

The big news of the week was the epic Aurora Borealis that was planned for Friday night. It's a sight that, in this case, could only be seen in certain parts of northern North America. Incredible enough, Logan was just within viewing distance! So obviously, everyone was jacked!

We spent about an hour looking for the PERFECT spot with JUST ENOUGH open sky. We looked....and we looked.....and then we looked some more. I don't know which scientist drew the Aurora boundary lines, but they may have been a little generous when rounding off the bottom end. The only big light I saw was from the flash when we took this picture. But hey, when you're surrounded by beautiful Utah State people you could care less about a fancy light show. One thing to remember about us Aggies: When things don't go as planned, we improvise. With plenty of warm bodies to go around, we managed to turn an Aurora no-show into the cuddle of the century. The northern lights might only be seen every several years, but a cuddle that good only occurs every century. So TAKE THAT Mr. Borealis!

Why I Live In Logan Wednesday

Alright the title's a stretch but other people use the days of the week way worst so haters back off.

Anyways! I thought I would take a post and talk about how amazing it is to live in Logan.

Coming from South Jordan U.T. where Salt Lake City, where something is always going on, I was way hesitant when I decided to come to USU and live in Logan which was supposedly a small town with almost nothing to do, but it turns out that there is a lot more to it than I thought!

Over the Freeway and Through the Canyon...

and you've basically made it to Logan. At first, driving to Logan was like the journey that would never end but now it really does feel like twenty minutes! It's funny because people come from all over the place to Logan, (USU has students that are from all 50 states!) and some of them can't go home all the time because of time or location so I feel pretty lucky to be able to go to a school that is far away from home but still close enough to go visit whenever I get sick of PB&J's sandwiches for dinner.

hollsfitlife.com
Now this picture isn't my own (I know, shame on me) BUT it is a great representation of what Sardine Canyon looks like during the fall which is the BEST time to come up to Logan (especially if you are coming to Logan to do a campus tour!).

When you get to Logan, it is going to have that small town feel to it but this is a small COLLEGE town which means when school is in session, so is the city.

I could go hours about Logan but I think pictures would probably be a lot more entertaining!

Main Street On Monday

Ok, this is a bit of a throwback! This was my freshman year of college! The first week, which is devoted to USU freshman, is called the Week of Welcome! During the Week of Welcome, they have an event called Taste of Logan where freshman can go around the main street of Logan and explore what the city has to offer! All of the shops and stores have booths and tables displaying what they sell and how they can help you out during the school year!

You usually get some really nice coupons and "swag" during this day so definitely take your roomies and go to this event!

Tacos On Tuesday (AKA, the best day of my life)

For all of those "There is no place like home" homies out there, I am here to tell you that Logan has that familiar feel to it too! Late-night trips to Mcdonalds with the friends? Logan has it. Group bowing date with the bae's? Logan has it (at the Fun Park)! $1.50 tacos every Tuesday at Cafe Rio? LOGAN HAS THAT TOO! I seriously can't recall a time that I haven't enjoyed the sweet, tangy, mouth-watering, amazingness that is a sweet pork taco with the friends on a Tuesday evening. Most Aggies would agree with me that Cafe Rio is bumpin on a Tuesday night.

I will deny it if someone asks but I heard that some people call and make the order ahead of time to avoid the rush. Just saying.

There is a ton more to offer in Logan. I really only showed a solid 5% of Logan has to offer you here. A college is only as great as the college town and we have a great college so that must mean the town is pretty amazing as well.

I really hope you come up here and explore the university and then come clean the sink with me at Angies (video coming soon) or get a taco with me on a Tuesday.

Either way, you are going to love it.

This is How We Do

First time wearing our ambassador swag, and we gave our very first tour! I love Siera so much. She is the best roommate I could ever ask for! College is the greatest!

It's official #nametag and everything!

Life is so sweet.
